The Schimmel K195T is based on their highly regarded K189T model with several notable refinements including the same full-length action found in the Schimmel K280T 9 ‘3” concert grand. This allows the player exceptional levels of control and makes playing at all dynamic levels extremely rewarding. Hand made by artisans in Braunschwieg, Germany, this piano is perfect for the advanced pianist desiring the best sound and action. The level of refinement found in this incredible instrument exceeds that of nearly every piano manufactured in the world today putting it in the top-tier of the finest pianos manufactured in Germany.
A mid-sized (6’5”) grand piano, the Schimmel Konzert K195 Tradition was designed and built to compete in one of the most competitive size ranges for luxury pianos. Schimmel’s Konzert Series Pianos were introduced about ten years ago and represent the top level of all of the models produced by the company. The new models (K175/195/219/230/256/280) comprise reengineerings to accommodate a concert grand action in all Konzert models, regardless of size. The sizes and shapes of these instruments have been changed from the earlier, smaller models to accommodate the larger actions. Therefore, the K195 has many of the same features found in the much larger K280 concert grand piano making this a powerful instrument that sounds much larger than it’s 6’5” length, with a clear and transparent tone perfect for home and chamber use.
Other refinements in the latest Konzert grands include higher-quality construction and materials in the soundboard and bridges, and more factory time devoted to refinement and finishing touches, with a particular focus on fine voicing to smooth out and enhance the tone. Schimmel’s Konzert models are built in Braunschweig, Germany, and bear the “Made in Germany” certification of the Bundesverband Klavier (BVK).
History:
In 1882, Wilhelm Schimmel learned piano making at the Vogel & Sohn factory in Leipzig, Germany. Now 4th generation Hannes Schimmel-Vogel directs the family business of Schimmel Pianofortefabrik. The Schimmel line is divided into 4 distinct levels: The upper level “Konzert” is the latest design utilizing computer enhanced concepts and scale. “Classic” is the traditional line. “Wilhelm Schimmel” is Schimmel designed and built in Poland.
