Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Atlantic Music Center is fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Implemented Accessibility Features

Our recent efforts focus on achieving complete compatibility with WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines, including:

• Keyboard Navigation: Added a visually-hidden skip-to-content keyboard shortcut link, high-contrast gold focus indicator outlines for all interactive buttons and inputs, and fully keyboard-accessible Bootstrap 5 menu dropdown structures.
• Semantic Markup & Roles: Structured sections using proper HTML5 semantic tags, unique primary navigation landmarks, and hierarchical heading structures (H1-H6).
• Form Labels & Control Associations: Linked all search and contact forms, inputs, selects, and checkboxes with explicit labels and unique IDs to ensure clear narration by screen readers.
• Text Alternatives: Eliminated raw filename alternate text tags on images and replaced them with human-readable instrument descriptions. Hidden decorative icons using ARIA attributes to prevent screen reader clutter.
